7 GRSC Laser sailors joined 66 Laser Masters and competed in the State Masters at Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club over the weekend 8-9 February. We were also joined by our very own Commodore Andrew McLachlan who was the outstanding PRO.
Friday night was a twilight invitational race in a light and very shifty breeze with most sailors been at the front and back of the fleet at some stage.
On Saturday the team battled a gusty 12 to 22 knot SE breeze with lots of big shifts which kept everyone on their toes with as many capsizes into windward as there were blown over and death rolling.
Saturday night was a dinner at the LJSC were we were greeted with incredible hospitality which was the hallmark of the entire regatta.
Only one race on was completed on Sunday after the easterly breeze died leaving the Standards a very slow finish of their one race and the Radials somewhat of a lottery in the final stage of theirs.
The GRSC team had 6 podium finishes and brought home 2 cubes.
